We help organisations create agency around a shared purpose to drive meaningful change
See how it works
We turn purpose into everyday agency
Drawing on social science, behavioral design, crowdsourcing, and crowdfunding, we’ve developed a model that not only maps how people move from awareness to real engagement - but also guides how organisations, communities and movements can design for that shift.
5. Belong
How do we create a sense of being part of something bigger?
1. Know
What do people need to understand - and why should they care?
2. Relate
How do we create connection, so people feel this is about them?
3. Act
What should people be able to do -and how do we make the first step easy?
4. Feedback
How do we show that their contribution makes a difference?
This is what it looks like in practice
1
Platforms for participation
We design systems that connect people around a shared purpose. Digital platforms, engagement tools, and governance models that make contribution visible and belonging real. Each action creates feedback that fuels the next - building trust, coordination, and scale. When participation becomes structured, movements grow. That's how purpose turns into collective agency, and how shared action becomes a force for change.

Case: National Engagement Platform
With one of the largest energy companies in Northern Europe, we are building a national platform that connects citizens, employees, and local initiatives in one shared space. It turns purpose into participation and brings people together around the green transition. By linking local stories to national impact, it makes change visible, measurable, and ongoing.
2
Community engagement & loyalty
No quick wins. We build lasting ties. When people return, stay involved, and bring others with them, your mission shifts from an initiative to a movement. When people are invited to shape what matters, they don't just participate, they care. Emotional investment turns into advocacy and loyalty. With open processes and visible feedback, people see that their actions count. That's how trust grows. That's how participation compounds. That's how purpose becomes something we build together.

Case: Donor Journey Redesign for leading Danish nature foundation
In collaboration with one of Denmark's leading nature foundations, we reimagined the donor journey to make every contribution feel counted. By combining digital transparency with emotional storytelling, we built flows that turned one-time gifts into lasting relationships - strengthening trust, repeat giving, and long-term support for nature.
3
Competitive differentiation
Opening up isn't a risk. It's an advantage. When organisations invite people to co-create, co-invest, and co-own, they don't just raise capital. They build loyalty, trust, and legitimacy and expand their reach organically. Participation becomes part of the product. Community involvement creates the kind of transparency and accountability that money alone can't buy. This is how you strengthen your reputation, attract new partners, and grow resilience from the ground up. What makes you open, is what makes you different. And in the long run, that's what makes you stronger.

Case: Crowdfunding community universe
Working with a cooperative housing platform, we are developing a white-label crowdfunding system that enables citizens, members, and partners to co-invest in new community projects. The model connects finance with belonging - turning shared values into shared ownership. By combining participation, transparency, and fair returns, it aims to build financing structures that strengthen trust, loyalty, and long-term resilience across the wider community and the sector.
4
Shared investment, lasting resilience
When communities invest, stability follows. Through membership (people), crowdfunding (capital), or recurring actions (time), we help organisations turn support into a steady flow. We design loops that make belonging tangible and growth people-powered. Each contribution strengthens the next, creating continuity and confidence. When participation feels meaningful, people stay and bring others along.

Case: Turning supporters into co-owners
With a mission-driven company working in conflict-affected regions, we built a community investment model that turns supporters into co-owners. It links purpose with capital, builds belonging, and creates the kind of shared responsibility that strengthens resilience and long-term stability.
Why it's Not About You
Our name is a kind reminder to step beyond ego and individualism, and to act together. By connecting across differences and making it easier to act together, we strengthen our ability to face challenges and open new paths forward.
We believe that real change happens when enough people move in the same direction, step by step. That's when systems start to shift.
The co-ownership model: A platform for shared purpose
Not About You is established as an Fmba (association with limited liability) with a purpose-before-profit intention, for those who want to turn good intentions into collective agency. Our model is built on shared ownership and responsibility, empowering everyone involved to be a co-owner on equal terms.
Internally and externally, we practice what we design: fostering community as a driving force, ensuring equality and co-ownership, promoting well-being and care, and embracing a loving edge of courage, honesty, and humor in all our interactions.
Crowdfunding and crowdsourcing are at the core of our practice. We've seen, time and again, how people are ready to step in to support, share, and take part when it makes sense and is easy to act on. Over the years, we've built platforms, designed campaigns, and helped organisations mobilise people and resources in new ways by making their purpose shared.
It's never just about clicks, campaigns, or reach. It's about bringing people together around something that feels real. When participation deepens into shared ownership, the future becomes something we build together.
